Creation of a new phrase is easy: Let’s say you are typing the word abbreviation over and over. It makes sense to create a text shortcut for that like abbr. To do so, with PhraseExpress installed simply select the text and press the in-built keyboard shortcut to create a new phrase and set abbr as your Autotext. From then on whenever you type abbr (in any program in which you can type text) and hit a space it gets automatically expanded to abbreviation.

1. No need to save the images first and then insert into the post you are composing. Have a screenshot or image in the clipboard? Just paste it in.
2. Image resizing. Can your blog hold only images up to 500px wide? No problem. For an image that’s wider than what can be fit in the content area of your blog, simply specify the width, 500px for example and the height will automatically be proportionally set. The thumbnail will automatically be linked to the full sized image (the link can of course be removed easily from ‘Link to’ dropdown).
   
3. Ability to specify whether the images should automatically be uploaded to your blog or to any FTP server. Hence there’s no need to upload your images separately to sites like Imageshack.

ChromePlugins.org has released a bookmarklet which will bring the dual split view to Google Chrome.

this will enable you to create 2 side by side “panels” in Chrome in the same tab so you can browse two sites at once side by side.

To get the split view:

1. Visit http://www.chromeplugins.org/plugins/google-chrome-dual-view/ and add the bookmarklet to your browser bookmarks.
2. Click on the bookmarklet
   
3. The existing tab location will be filled by default. You can change it to the URL of the page to appear in the left side and press OK.
   
4. Then enter the URL of the page to appear in the right tab. You have the option to prevent this page from creating additional dialogs.
   

That’s it. Your existing tabs will remain intact and within a single tab, you can see both the sites like this:

To install a new incompatible add-on and make it compatible

1. Click on the xpi file link

   

2. Click on Allow button at the top right
3. In the prompt to remove the extension installation delay, you may want to click Yes.

   

4. Tick “Override ‘maxVersion’ compatibility checking and click ‘Install now’ button.

If you are interested in just adding the buttons and not the entire functionality provided by the official add-on, you might want to get the classic version. Unfortunately the add-on that page is not compatible with Firefox 3.0+. It has been modified to work with the latest Firefox by Micah Sittig and can be downloaded from here.

How the add-on works

The above add-on adds 2 buttons in Firefox like so:

Clicking on thebutton takes you to your bookmarks page at delicious.com.

Clicking on the button brings up a window like so:

where you can enter description for the bookmark (up to 1000 characters) and your tags. The tags can either be selected from recommended list at the right or typed (suggests your existing ones as you type)

Setting up keyboard shortcut to bookmark a page to delicious

For faster bookmarking you might want set a keyboard shortcut like Ctrl+D (‘D’ for delicious) using the keyconfig add-on. Keyconfig is a pretty useful add-on for creating new and modifying existing keyboard shortcuts in Firefox. Here is a detailed tutorial on how to use keyconfig in Firefox.

Once you have keyconfig installed, bring it up by pressing Ctrl+Shift+F12 and search for an entry Tag this page. It will be assigned to "Ctrl+Shift+/" by default. To modify this shortcut, just select that entry, press your new key combo (Ctrl+D) and hit Apply. When you restart Firefox, the new keyboard shortcut is ready to use.
