Do you have a PPT file that you want to embed in your blog? iSpring offers both a web service and software (has a pro version too) for converting PowerPoint files to Flash format (.swf).

You can upload PowerPoint files in either .ppt or .pps (PowerPoint show) format here. Note that the input file size is limited to 30MB each. Ensure that you download the ouput flash file within a week since it will be automatically deleted from their server.

If you want to convert PowerPoint files that are larger than 30MB to flash format, you can do so using their free software, iSpring Free.

Here is a useful 4-step web service that will help in importing your del.icio.us bookmarks into Firefox, especially with what Firefox 3 supporting tagging for bookmarks.

The 4 steps briefly are:

1. Export your del.icio.us bookmarks as an HTML file
2. Export your Firefox 3 bookmarks as a JSON file
3. Create your combined JSON file by merging the above two files using the form on the page linked above.
4. Re-import the combined bookmarks to Firefox.

If you don’t want to import bookmarks from del.icio.us to Firefox, you can use this Firefox add-on instead to integrate del.icio.us into Firefox.

Snap Links allows users to easily open multiple links in new tabs by drawing a box around them. Links can also be opened in new windows, new tabs on a new window, copied to clipboard, bookmarked or downloaded.

The official version hosted at Firefox Add-ons site is not yet updated to Firefox 3.0. But a working version of Snap Links for Firefox 3.0 can be downloaded from Andrew Sherman’s blog. Here is the direct link.

It’s not easy to modify the list of folders that appear in the left side bar of File/Open and File/Save or SaveAs dialogs, until now. PlacesBar Editor is a free program that lets you add your own folders to the Places Bar. Works in both XP and Vista.

If you considering using the above program, we recommend that you instead go for Direct Folders. It provides quick access to your favorite folders and recent documents. Direct Folders  automatically resizes every standard file dialog, so you can see a larger number of files.
