4 Free File Storage Sites

There are several web sites providing a lot of free space for storing your files and media like photos, music (mp3s) and videos. They also offer file sharing besides file storage.

Listed below are few notable free web services offering file storage and file sharing (our emphasis is on file storage aspect):

MyBloop

The site to upload and share files for free with infinite space.

MyBloop Summary:

  • Unlimited space. There are no limits on storage, bandwidth or the number of files you can store.
  • Max file size: 1GB
  • Allowed file types: Everything (music, videos, pictures, zip files, exe files) except .js and .php.
  • Provides a desktop client with easy drag and drop facility besides a web based file manager.
  • Files can be set as private or public. However, if you give the link to a private file to someone, they will be able to access it. So just make sure you give the private link only to people you want to allow access to. Also ensure that you aren’t making any copyrighted material as public since MyBloop allows music, videos and movies to be uploaded as long as it is marked private and is not shared with anyone else.
  • Hotlinking is allowed only for image files.
  • Users can download all files types except for music.
  • Lets you embed a single mp3 or a playlist on your blogs/sites. Playlists have interstitial voice ads.
